I would not want to own property there.

Exactly what do you think was "normal" there?

I don't know how Ferguson even has a police force left. If I worked that city, after the past 6-12 months I would have found a new line of work by now.

my inlaws live in Florissant which neighbors Ferguson. They have friends who live and work in Ferguson. They sometimes eat at the Ferguson Brewery. People talk. Trust me...I'm right.
You need to understand that the protests are occurring in a 1 mile stretch on ONE STREET in a city with a population of 21,000. There's a LOT of that city that isn't shown on TV that is relatively normal.
Believe it or not, Ferguson isn't the ghetto. It may certainly become the ghetto after this shite, but it wasn't a terrible place before the shooting.
The Brown family and paid outsiders (CNN has reported on this indepth if you don't believe me) are causing the majority of the problems.
Ferguson residents didn't burn down Ferguson. Paid anarchists from Chicago, San Francisco, Texas, and East St. Louis destroyed Ferguson. The majority of people arrested during the riots had out of state licenses. The legitimate local protesters have complained about hoodlums from outside the area purposefully causing trouble to fuel more riots as an excuse to loot without repercussions.
Unfortunately, in staying true to the old saying "never let a good crisis go to waste", Obama, Sharpton, and several other special interests welcomed the new narrative.
And, it's all about the narrative which I can see that you are 100 percent "bought in"
smh

The first post is correct. It wasn't the best neighborhood in the world, but relatively speaking it wasn't the worst either. Even today, I'd much rather go spend time in Ferguson than East St. Louis, IL or some other North County communities.

who the hell would want to move to Ferguson?
I would.
Hang a shingle down the street from the protests.
$300 flat fee to sue the police department or city council for whatever you want.
We have an installment plan and we are located in a strip mall next door to a payday loans.

I posted it on the political board- Ferguson is in pretty bad shape with their money.
Property Values down 47%-
Increased Expenses (Police OT)
City Manager resigned-
The court fees (which the DOJ said were racist) & property Tax (which have plummeted) make up 37% of the revenue collected by the city.

with the average home selling for only $22,951 so far in 2015. Another negative indicator: in the eight and a half months leading up to Brown’s death, the average residential square foot in 2014 was selling for $45.82. In the eight and a half months since Brown’s passing, the average residential square foot in the city has sold for $24.11. That’s about a 47 percent downtick in one of real estate’s core indicators.

“The[city’s] response to the unrest, as well as other related matters, has resulted in significant, unanticipated expenditures,” reads the city’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for 2014."

Should had declared martial law and let the Marines clean up the situation.

They need to hire an all black police force.

it's a shame because Florissant is a prideful city right next door where middle to upper middle class blacks and whites live together with very few problems.
This crap will probably spill over into Florissant and taint that city resulting in an exodus which racist black leaders and media will declare as a white flight based on...you guessed it...racism.

They need to build large walls to separate the communities, like the Shia and Sunnis have in Iraq. Every morning a mule-drawn cart can be let in to collect the bodies. After about 20 years it would then have cleared up the problem and the walls could be destroyed. problem solved.

O
Or it would turn into a New Jack City/Kowloon Walled City shite show that would be next to impossible to police.

gotcha, thanks, I wasn't being a smartass it's just that I haven't heard that angle before, the reporting on this has been ridiculously one sided
ETA: there I go profiling again, I was just assuming because of its proximity to E. St. Louis, that it was a similar cesspool

Of course the reporting as been one sided. The media are trying their hardest to push a narrow minded narrative and they're incredibly masterful at what they do. Hell, CNN has been sucking this story's dick since the beginning, but even they reported on the "outsider" element.
On a side note, Ferguson isn't close to East St. Louis at all in comparison to several other STL area municipalities that are much closer.

a couple of things can happen:
1. St.Louis County PD takes over, and they run things.
2. The morons vote in idiots, and they begin to destroy a city that wasnt bad, it had a lower income area, but was surviving white flight. And the City turns in Wellston, Mo
