No, he was pointing out how stupid it is to believe that someone suddenly chose to be straight after seeing a Playboy for the first time.

So you were born that way.

I concede that there are gays who may never have had a thought of being anything else, but I don't even think that's a majority much less universal. It also may have to do with being abused a a very young child, something else that is extremely common among gays.

Perhaps not universal but among the gays I know its all of them and none were abused as children. But we could go back and forth with anecdotes. I think its fair to say, like most other neuro divergent conditions...we dont have a full grasp on all the components that contribute to to being gay.

Not disagreeing with you, but I'd genuinely like to get your opinion on whether you think people are also born with a sexual preference towards children? OR is that a learned preference?

That was not even close to what that poster was saying at all. LOL

Funny how you chose to completely ignore the rest of his point to continue to be a white knight for nonsensical woke bullshite.

So, again, which one of the 19 so called "sexual orientations" do humans know they belong to and at what age? You all set up the parameters for this garbage, yet cannot answer questions when they are presented. So instead, you resort to crap like mocking someone that is trying to understand your stupidity.

Not a gotcha. Just trying to understand his thought process. He explained it better and now I understand what he was trying to say.

Because I'm an organism that reproduces. Yes.
Doesn't mean gays are born that way.

Every gay guy I've ever met was abused as a kid. I know this because they weirdly have a tendency to share this with people they hardly know.

His response to when asked at what age did he choose to be straight was, 6,7,8 whenever I saw my Grandpa's Playboys.

This is how I know that you ACTUALLY know many gay people instead of pretending on the Internet.

I've had many gay friends and acquaintances thru the years and abuse IS a common theme.

Ah yes, I am sure that many people open up to acquaintances or people that they hardly know that they were victims of sexual abuse. Totally sounds believable /s.

Frankly I have not really read up on research regarding pedophiles. Have you?

Yeah, like I said, they were weirdly open to sharing this. Gays overshare a lot. You must not have known many.

Very reasonable reply. My apologies.

As for Soonerwhatever, take notes on how to properly "debate".

Not too deeply, but I found this article pretty interesting

From the NY Times

NY Times Article from 2019

quote:

Images of child sex abuse have reached a crisis point on the internet, spreading at unprecedented rates in part because tech platforms and law enforcement agencies have failed to keep pace with the problem. But less is understood about the issue underlying it all: What drives people to sexually abuse children?

Science in recent years has begun to provide some answers. One thing most pedophiles have in common: They discover, usually as teenagers, that their sexual preferences have not matured like everyone else’s. Most get stuck on the same-age boys or girls who first attracted them at the start of puberty, though some retain interest in far younger children.

“People don’t choose what arouses them — they discover it,” said Dr. Fred Berlin, director of the Johns Hopkins Sex and Gender Clinic. “No one grows up wanting to be a pedophile.”

Properly debate? You mean like down below where you attributed things to me that I have neither said anything about, nor believe personally.

"Funny how you chose to completely ignore the rest of his point to continue to be a white knight for nonsensical woke bull shite.

Let's be fair...that may be his experience.
I have 3 good friends that are gay and have other that were friends through out my life. Two were friends since childhood. We've had some frank discussion when they came out in college and they were not abused. That's just my experience. I'm sure any sexual encounters at a young age could have an impact but I don't beleive its a necessary part of individuals developing a homosexual orientation.

Fairness does not apply when it is in situations that have been obviously made-up.
