Nothing useful in this thread until the last two pages, IMO . I think the plan is officially:

Whereever you start, hitchhike back home. Hide in wall of house until cops leave, paint yourself blue, paint your dad's deer stand blue, hide there for a while, go to grandpas abandoned barn and hide in that secret place that only you and him knew about (little creepy, btw), and then go put a gun to some kids head while his family watches, which means you lose anyway!

Thanks
I know some laugh but the blue body paint at the Y and the sunken treasure ship are the two most probable winning ideas. The others aren't close

You could always paint your surroundings orange. That may be easier.

Now I'm figuring which blue paint would be best
Lead would stick good but might kill u or make u ataxic
Indoor latex might not be durable enough
Outdoor latex might be best bet

But what would painting surroundings orange do? Sorry that just seems unnecessary and frankly stupid

Think about this for a second. You basically have a 1 hour head start to get into hiding so:

Hit an airport? No. You'll be on a flight which is track able. Also, you may still be on that flight after 1 hour.

You put together a master plan and go into hiding:

EVERYONE in the world will then be looking for you. EVERYONE in the world will know that you are within a 1 hour range of your previous location. The simple volume of people searching vs small area to hide in makes it less than a 1% chance to succeed.

Why couldn't a person hide in a random empty house?

I thought about that, but I'm not so sure you could last 5 days without being discovered.

If the house is empty and on the market, a real estate agent will be coming by. If it's a bank owned property and not on the market yet, Safeguard is going to check on the property.

In order to avoid all of that you'd need inside knowledge of the house and the fact that you have inside knowledge is a good clue to look for you there.

Is the blue body paint not to be undiscoverable by thermal imaging?

You'd do much better trying to discretely break into a house that has people living in it. Find a good place in the attic/crawls space/space between walls and hide. In this scenario, people probably won't want dozens of people searching their own house, so I would guess that most of the searching would be done by the people living in the house. If you can remain undetected through the initial search, you stand a good chance.

7 billion people coming within an hour of your previous location to look for you would be stupid and counterproductive. It would probably help you in fact. Mass chaos.

If you painted the surrounding area orange/red you could refrain from painting yourself and remain undetected from thermal imaging.

They're going to thermal image every house in a 80 mile radius
They will know where everyone who isn't in blue paint is

Oh that's a good point! But how long would it take to paint surroundings?

Unless their surroundings were orange.

If its a small room, not too long. You could get a couple cans of paint and some dynamite and have the room painted in the matter of minutes.
