Don’t use qtips.
I’ve love earwax. Also enjoy a good zit I can pop. Cysts are even better.

Stop using Q-Tips and use Debrox.

Debrox works pretty freaking good. I’m always amazed at how much better I can hear after I use it

This has happened to me before. Go to an urgent care or ENT and they will use some mechanism to do it. It's horribly uncomfortable, I know.

hot water and a syringe made especially for this. Works great.

I clean people’s ears out not infrequently in the ER. Let some hydrogen peroxide soak in the ear until it stops bubbling. Then take a syringe filled with warm water with an angiocath attached and try to shoot it out. This may take several rounds.
As others have mentioned colace, debrox, using a smart phone otoscope and a spoon (tool for removing wax), or simply going to your doctor are other options.

A doctor will hose it out with warm water or scrape it our with a hook
Or, a nurse will attempt to do it, rupture your ear drum, and cause an infection which will lead to an abscess that ruptures in the middle of the night. Fortunately, whatever she managed to do will allow the infection to form with little-to-no pain, even when you wake up with a bloody mess of puss on your pillow. That will lead you to find a real ENT, because your old one unexpectedly died, like you should have done in the first place.
Then, because the universe works in mysterious ways, the next time you call the new doc for an appointment you will find that he, too, has passed away.
Moral of the story is: go to an ENT doctor because letting some random medical-adjacent a-hole poke and prod around in your ear is never a good idea.

I always use Murine. I have been using it for years. You can buy it at Walgreens.
