I started to sour on New Orleans about a year ago. I moved away about a month ago.

It's still by favorite city in the world, but it feels like the inmates run the asylum.

I don't get the hate. Went there fairly recently on a weekend night and it wasn't that bad. Granted, I grew up around the south LA "culcha" so I guess I'm acclimated to it. Not to mention I was drunk off my arse

Your posts are usually good in any thread not to do with NOLA. I'm not sure if you're trolling in these or not

And if the city doesn't clean its shite up and outsiders keep reading about tourists and others who get mauled in and around the French Quarter, those numbers will decline.

nah, new orleans has been a shite hole for a while now and crime has always been an issue and the tourist numbers continue to rise

Take LSU out of Baton Rouge and it's Alexandria.

I was at elmwood last night to see Dunkirk and on the way home I was just waiting at a red light when two cars just blew past me running the red light at like 60 in a 35.

The young gentlemen were laughing.

I told my brother in law that we live in the Wild West now.

The culture is out of control and I'm about to white flight my arse to the north shore.

Actually the post to which you are responding is the quintessential SS post these days. This and his "regrets" posts about sum him up anymore.

Sadly.

Just like with everything the internet blows everything way out of proportion. If you grew up in Tue N.O. area in the 90s you know violent crime was always a major problem.

Which light was it?

So a car blew past you going 60 mph while you were sitting still, at night and you could see 2 young gentlemen inside the car laughing??

I believe you

We aren't quite at that level of white flight. St George would improve this area tremendously

The other day I watched two dudes duke it out while two women filmed it on their phones in the warehouse district at like 5pm in broad daylight.

It's painfully obvious that we don't have enough police and the ones we do have DONT DO ANYTHING ABOUT THUGS

we have people popping wheelies on 4 wheelers on the CCC Bridge, people getting shot in their cars in the east. Cops getting shot while off duty sitting in their unit.

This city IS the Wild West right now and the culture knows it.

Had a similar experience going to see Boyz in the Hood in Tampa back in 1991 or whichever year it came out.

Yeah, because they can act like jackasses and get shite-faced on the street.

People don't visit NOLA because it's an awesome place to live.

Eirhart and one of those streets on the way to the cbd.

I could care less if you believe me. I've lived here for five years and it's starting to wear on me. Keep defending it though.

So I can use Slidell to assess NOLA's coolness now?
