they are just marketing to the beats by dre culcha.
i don't see the air pods being that successful. the earbuds with the same shape aren't very comfortable to me. 3rd party wireless ear buds and head phones will dominate that market.

I thought it was a boy doing the voiceover. Maybe that's the point, it's supposed to be gender neutral. I notice that some of the actors/a actresses in their commercials look like they're of indeterminate gender.
