if you lose your cooling tower pumps, what’s are you putting external water (firewater) on first ?

If your heater O2 is decreasing and your combustibles are increasing, but your draft and firing rate hasn't changed, what could be the issue? How do you fix it?
No idea. I don’t work in O&G. We manufacture specialty catalyst using a batch process. We run our distillation columns under vacuum. Our problems happen when O2 increases.

putting raw fuel gas into heater without burning it off causing a flooded heater

Ah well, if you're at the end of a batch, and the NCIN operator is taking a shite, but you need to depressive, do you wait or just hit the flare?

If we lose cooling water, we just pause our process. We don’t use water in our process. It reacts violently with our solvent. We use cooling water to cool our medium that cools the internal condenser to our columns.
We have 3 different mediums. High heat (steam), intermediate heat (cooling water), and low heat (chilled water).

I’m also an NCIN qualified operator. I’d just use the flare and let him know when he got back in the control room.

Do you know for sure that she has a Jody or do you just suspect?

Before my time. Didn’t even catch reruns at my grandparents house.

Try to catch up to Slow Flo Pro in post count.
Commenting on Larry Leo articles counts toward your total, so you can just go through and post "Why can't Chicken afford a proofreader?" on every one.

Nah, definitely don’t care about my post count. I’ve been on this site for over 10 years. I post when I feel I have something to contribute. Often times, just lurk.
I was skimming through the long haul truck driver thread, and bored. Figured I would try and engage.

You always on night shift or do your rotate?
If you rotate, how long is the rotation and how long does it take to acclimate?

About a year out of high school I worked a Summer at the plant my Pops worked at. It was 12 hour swings: 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off......alternating days/nights on each swing, 7 o'clock to 7 o'clock. It was clear no one got used to it, not even the guys with 20+ years doing it. That was the craziest bunch of arseholes I've ever worked with.

2-2-3 is a common cycle. Our bodies aren’t designed to have fricked up sleep schedules. That’s why weekends and nights, it’s pretty relaxed. Our supervisors are former operators. They don’t come looking for you if you’re getting your job done.
We’re 3-3. Waking up at 1:40 in the morning never gets easy. I’d rather be able to get home and have a normal afternoon and night, though.
