I was on drugs for years. Rehab did not help. I would go then be high weeks later.
Things got bad. Then one day I got in an incident where an associate of mine and I were too far.. I’m not going to give details it’s way too graphic for this forum, but I was knocked out unconscious with a concussion and needed stitches and I could have died.
That night, I realized that the lifestyle just wasn’t worth it. I didn’t wanna die and I had missed out on so much on life chasing something that didn’t give a damn about me hanging with people who didn’t care about me.
I got on my knees and prayed and surrendered to god for the first time really ever. I gave up the fight.
There is a saying it takes what it takes. I look back on that night man and what was I thinking I was just living in sin I was a shell of myself
I'm agnostic, but this brings a tear to my eye.
Good for you getting your life back and finding your way.
Kick life's arse, baw.

God bless and will pray for you. The fact you’re so self aware increases your ability to beat it.

I’ll add, getting on an ssri was a night and day difference with me. I have impulse control issues and battles depression and when I’m medicated the desire to self medicate just is not there.
Also change people places and things. Don’t go back trying to save anyone. I can’t stay in hotels in my home town any longer for the fear of instant triggers.
Update ur Facebook to non drug and alcoholic friends only. My Facebook feed used to become methbook at midnight, u don’t need to see updates about petty dope dramas going on with petty people

Think about it. People on dope don’t text because they do not have money to pay phone bills so they use Facebook messenger.

I started in 9. Then 6, 3, 10.
Darren was known for shaking up the cabins. Don’t know how it is now with the new CEO.
Tell Jeff that “Popcorn & SportsCenter” says hello. He’ll know who you are talking about

What’s up next as you transition back to regular life?
Posted on 4/9/19 at 7:45 am to whit
A lot of us have been there, just stick it out and do more than the regular 28 days. Suck it up and stay a good 4-6 months and really get your life back on track before you go back into the real world and have to worry about getting your personal affairs in order on top of just trying to stay sober.
The more you can get some repairing your life on the outside while you’re still in rehab, the easier and less stressful it will be to keep yourself straight when you get out.
Can I ask what your drug of choice is?
