I'm with you, there. I've watched this stuff even longer than the OP, but today I mostly check-out old shows and clips on YouTube, none later than 1992-ish. I very rarely watch current stuff, and what I do see, I don't like.
The thing is, I don't think a life-long fan can just walk away, cold turkey. This shite sticks with you, for whatever reason. My wife only watched briefly during the Attitude Era, and to this day, if someone innocently says in conversation, "Oh, you didn't know?," she's gotta follow it up with, "Your arse better call somebody!"

I grew up a big wrestling fan, but the only reason I still kinda keep up with it is because it’s a cool thing to bond with my sons with. When they stop watching, I probably will too.

Thats why shoot interviews and documentaries like "Dark side of the ring" and "behind the titantron" on YouTube, etc. Are so popular today.
Old fans would rather watch people we know talk about shite we remember than watch anything going on today.

For those familiar with Vince McMahon's sense of humor, it's surprising that these zombies weren't costumed as deceased wrestlers from the past, like the Blue Blazer, and such.

No, he shouldn't. I don't care how many five-star matches he was involved in, he murdered his wife and child. Putting Benoit in the WWE HOF would be wrong, not to mention a terrible PR move.
