I downvoted because I disagree with you in the what you said about some people who smoke are not trashy.
I believe that all smokers are trashy. You can polish a turd, but at the end of the day you're still holding shite.

sure
but for the most part....
even the people I work with who smoke I wouldn't classify as trashy.

First and foremost, it's an addiction. A bad one.
I've smoked for 20 years and keep saying, "I'm going to quit smoking one day, but today isn't that day".
My parents smoked until they were 60 years old and they quit together, cold turkey.
As a kid I thought it was disgusting and hated the smell and smoke.
I smoke away from non-smokers as much as possible because I know the smell is offensive to most people.
I love a cigarette. It's a nasty addiction. But I am thankful that I am addicted to nicotine and not gambling or booze, pain pills, or some other street drug.
At least with smoking, I can function normally and I'm not trying to get inebriated all the time.

We don't give a frick that you have to smell it. We smoke because we have to deal with people like you.

was never a "smoker, but would join coworkers on a smoke break on a stressful day or smoke a bit when drunk. But cold, wet days were awesome for stepping outside and grabbing a smoke for 5-7 minutes. As long as you aren't getting rained on.

Then it is a good thing you are on track to significantly shorten your life span, less years that you will have to deal with people like us.

Bunch of whiny bitches.
I quit decades ago, but it just blows my mind how many folks have just decided to be offended by smokers, and how the world has decided it's perfectly fine to discriminate against this group.
One whiff of smoke is somehow harmful to some people, when they spend 8 hours a day inhaling their office mates hairspray and perfume toxins. Smokers being pushed outside isn't good enough, because they have to walk through it. Boo hoo. It's not like that "clean air" isn't full of exhaust fumes, and hundreds of other toxins you don't even know about, but bitching about smokers gives you someone to look down upon in your pathetic little lives.
Smokers aren't any more trashy than the drunks some of you are so proud to be. They aren't any more trashy than the crooks, liars, thieves, and hoodlums we come across in our every day lives.
Live and let live, people. Society has already made these folks a target, and second class citizens. Hell, pot smokers aren't even subject to the same kind of disdain that cigarette smokers are.

I'm lighting a cigarette in my office right now.
Not because I want one, it's doubtful I'll take a puff, rather... Screw anyone who whines about cigarette smoke during grinding.

Hmmm... so that applies to McDonalds, Budweiser, Snickers, Coca Cola, and living in Baton Rouge also, doesn't it?

Damn right
Well, how many of them do you do? We need to know so we can label you trashy, and shun you too.
That's going to go for fast cars, 4x4's, motorcycles, boats, hunting, fishing, skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, literally any food anyone would consider "good", driving to work, flying, skydiving, etc.
Really, just tell me what you do, and I'll tell you why you're a disgusting piece of shite that deserves to die.

You can be a functioning alcoholic. And smoking is every bit as bad as alcohol and probably actually far worse.
