Denali is the biggest elevation gain on earth that you can climb base to summit. 18000 feet base to peak.

Thanks for the link. Harrowing story. I had no idea he had done all that and was with Delaney.

I can't fathom why someone would put themselves through that.

I think a tougher thing is to do one of the three long hikes we have in the US/North America. AT anyone?

In honor of your triumph, I would like for you to start the LUNCH THREAD when you summit. Bonus points if your meal is your own toes.

I'll have a full year of training to get my body physically ready and then I'll have to about a 2-3 month period once I arrive to adapt to the altitude, I really hope I can make it to the summit. It been my life long dream to do the impossible and climb the worlds largest mountain. It's crazy to that I want to put my body through that type of torment, I will literally be at the cruising altitude of a Boeing 737 Jet. My body will be dying and I'll get to see the best view that God put on this earth. I really hope I make up up there and down safely.

I'm climbing for my own benefit, I'm climbing it because it's there and I want to prove that anyone can climb it with a little bit of luck and proper training.

I want to give updates throughout the year. If any of you have anything you would like me to put at the summit like a flag or something...ill give you my email. Only serious inquiries though people, thank you for your time have a blessed day.

If that's really what you want to prove it's already been proven many times over. A man with a fake leg climbed Everest.

Also, January isn't the month to climb Everest.

What is your experience climbing at altitude?

Climbing Everest in January isn't something you "try out". It isn't like an appetizer.

I have never seen the appeal of doing anything that requires a guide and then calling it an adventure. Adventure is going into the unknown and overcoming obstacles to achieve something. If a guide is with you removing all the obstacles and uncertainty for you, where is the adventure?

OP was trolling. Wanted this to go on for months but he couldn't even get it out the gate. Maybe he'll create a new alter in a few weeks and start one about swimming across the gulf of mexico

And he isn't even a good troll. Has no idea what he is talking about and can't keep his lies straight.

I'd suggest going to see the movie before you make the decision. There have been entire years when, although dozens if not over a hundred have tried it, literally no one made it to the summit. Many people have died trying to get there, and some die pretty much every year.

I'm sure it would be great to accomplish the goal, but don't push your luck and take any unwise risks (besides trying to climb it in the first place) to get there. Be willing to give up if it gets too risky.

It's very dangerous, but I hope you make it and best of luck to you.
