When you think someone might be lying, let them lie. In their effort to hide the truth they’ll compound the lie, and then when you entertain the lie they’ll eventually tattle on themselves and be caught up in the lie further.

Long story short, give someone enough rope and they’ll hang themselves.

So either you’ll have to be a very, very good liar, or you’ll prove the lie.

It’s exhausting really. And everyone gets tired.
