Italy would make the most sense for me. Family from Lucca south to Basilicata. Plus I speak Italian and Napulitan.

We were going to buy a home in Italy with another couple but were told by someone we knew who lived there for a few years that you can’t get anything done there.
One example of countless others like this. You call a roofer to come fix your roof. They say they will be there early next week. The reality is they don’t come for several months.
It doesn’t matter how many calls you make or try to hold their feet to the fire. They really drag their asses.
Everything else is great! But trying to get anything done drove our friends crazy.
