Y’all don’t have a lake nearby?
There are some. The dog park I mentioned has a huge man made lake for the dogs to swim in off leash so we are gonna try that this weekend.
I would love to take a road trip to the beach(San Diego would be the closest and I’ve heard they have an awesome dog beach)....but don’t think he can handle the 10-12 hours round trip in a car.

I meant beach/ocean.
Lake Havasu is 3.5 hours away. Better off driving two more and be at San Diego.
Besides there are plenty of lakes closer if I just wanted a lake beach.

Damn, sorry to hear about the liver mass. Nice looking dog... Reminds me of the lab we used to have as a kid. Great dogs.
Give it all the comfort food it wants and spend lots of time with it.

I know that you think your response was cute and clever, but it was not.
One day you may have to grow up and come out of hiding from behind the false bravado of pretending that you are a thoroughbred.
You are not.
You will then learn that it takes courage and character to show compassion - neither of which you have.
It is obvious that the OP is genuinely hurting now and knows that it will only get worse and is seeking solace from on-line friends.
I can only imagine the source of your on-line acquaintances.
It would appear that you have never loved and/or lost a loved one. Maybe, one day, you will find companionship or love with an animal and maybe a human being and will then experience what is going on.
Until then, try not to be such an arse. It doesn't work for you.
P.S. You owe the OP an apology for being so insensitive during this sad time.
Prove my post above wrong by doing so or prove it correct by staying silent.
You're up.

As someone who’s actually had to do this, I pray you never have to. It’s awful.

Hate to hear that nurse. I don't have a dog, so I don't know the right answer, but it sounds like you're on the right track. A family picture would be a good idea while he is still in good shape for the memories.
