Does it make anyone else's mind shite its pants how on a flat map the path goes up and down but on the globe it goes in a straight line?

Maybe. But I always thought that was a myth. The atmosphere gets thinner and thinner but doesn't have a skin like the surface of a lake.

Apollo 13 was more worried about overshooting the earth if they came in too flat.

I've never understood why we even have globes when the Earth is flat.

So none of these "trackers" have a clue what the altitude or reentry time. It's all a pure guess.
How has no one figured this out? I thought we had some pretty smart people and computers that could put this thing inside a 10 second and 100 mile window.

Well, it’s definitely not losing altitude. It’s just kind of orbiting.

Same thing in aviation. Great circle routes. Glad I had a globe as a child. If I didn’t I may have been a flat earther
