I curious, how did you go from maintenance to selling floors? Seems like a weird jump.

Musta had an uncle....

So you were a janitor in the mall and now sell flooring? Is that still at the mall?

I did the same. Rage quit a 65k year job and had to take a $13/hourjob. Got a couple raises to 15 then 17/hour by 6 months. Then promoted to supervisor for 50k at 1 year, which then made me eligible for my new job at 94k with pension. I would have never landed the job i have now if i hadn't said frick it to the shite job i had.

Lowes has sales people? Seems like every time I'm in there looking for something....finding an employee on the floor is like finding a needle in a haystack stack.

I assume you make commission. Also I guess it doesn't help that 100K homes flooded and needed flooring. Also mall maintenance = let me call someone to fix it when it breaks.

Everyone I know in sales goes in and makes a killing the first year or two. Then, "upper management" increases their quota making it increasingly difficult to make their bonus. Margins and sales can go up year over year, but if you don't hit their arbitrary objectives, you make less and less each year.
