Go rent a box truck and load it with MREs (hunting outlets), can goods and various nonperishables (water and tons of filter straw gadgets). Include various citrus fruits....limes lemons etc. sweep seed section at Home Depot it nursery outlet.

Hit up various stores for ammo. Rifle (assault and hunting) shotgun and handgun.

To close it out, rob a pharmacy of every antibiotic I could locate and some pain killers......and plenty first aid materials for basic medical needs.

Then, lastly, swing down to Galveston to hi-jack a relatively new (and seemingly well conditioned) sail boat. Around 44’ or larger.....ideally 50+ with small tender. I’d make sure it also had plenty of fuel for kicker motor and tender. Throw on as many aux fuel containers as well.

(NOTE: I would reach out to a friend who is a very skilled sailor and I trust him.....his wife and 2 kids would also accompany him. Also, recruit one of the wife’s ER doctor friends.)

We’d chart a course to various low key locations away from largely inhabited areas using hard copy maps and basic navigation tools as electronic saltelite based things are worthless now.
