Have you actually seen a Honda Odyssey up close lately? I know most people think of them as a "typical minivan" bc I did too, but these arent your parents Aerostars anymore. They are loaded out, really simple for the kids to pile into, and very smooth and fuel efficient. Plus the amount of cargo room is really nice. I can take whatever seats out that I want and have even more storage than what I coukd have before.
Sienna > Odyssey.
But seriously, I know exactly what you're saying. I sort of learned how to drive in a Plymouth Grand Voyager in the mid 90s. Back then they only had a sliding door on the passenger side, and it wasn't powered. My sisters made me sit in that seat so I could close it. It was my Mom's second Voyager, after getting rid of a Pontiac station wagon. The differences in minivans back then and now is insane. You could remove the back row of seats, but it took two people and they must have weighed over 150 lbs. One solid bench seat. Now they either flip up and give you a deep trunk space in the back, or they fold down into it and give you a cargo area larger than an SUV behind the middle row. And the middle seats you couldn't remove easily. The track system in them to slide them forward and back is great. Mom's had captains chairs in the second row. Those weren't coming out.

We have a Lexus LS460L and a Toyota Sienna Limited mini van. I love the van since I can put 10'sections of PVC and 8' x 4' plywood with the weather worries. It is so much smoother than a an SUV.

Don't have one, but see the benefits. Getting a kid in and out with a door open in a tight parking space......I wish I had a sliding door sometimes. That's really the key, small efficient engine and sliding doors. What really separates it from an SUV.

I honestly don't care about the embarrassing things you do. You're obviously not worried about other people looking at you funny, so that's a good thing.
Trying too hard, partner.

If you drive a minivan have you given up on life?
Or you have kids.

They're kind of embarrassing for male drivers
It's only embarrassing for the males trying to compensate for small penises.

What was the consensus here?

I don't know but after having kids I wish they made a car that was designed to be hosed out with the pressure washer. Maybe I just need an early Humvee from the national guard?
