It is precisely a sweatsuit. I get that you're slow, so I won't give you too much shite about this anymore.

You've gone off the rails now. This was a thread that you started to show how cool you are, but now it's backfired and not gone as planned. It's really funny to watch you find out that you aren't nearly as cool as you thought.

Is it practical or not, sir. You're avoiding its practicality which is the main issue here.

My wife and I don't own one, but my empty nester parents keep buying them. They were very popular in the 90's, and are extremely practical vehicles for families.

Most CUV's today are really just minivans disguised as an SUV. The one caveat being that 3rd-row models really don't work with older kids and adults. That's where the minivan has a big advantage.

At the end of the day, family cars should be a conveyance. They need to be as practical as possible, but humans are idiots and buy things for status.

Said we'd never get one. Had a 3rd kid. Sold the 4 runner and bought a Honda odyssey. That thing has made life 10x easier with the kids. Don't hate playa

There is nothing practical about wearing sweats every day in the south, even during winter.

So wait, I'm finding out I'm not cool because there are people here defending their driving a minivan?

How does that work?

Who said it had to be in the south?

I'd drive one if I wasn't so insecure. I rented one once because it was the only option at the time with satellite radio. It was nice. They overcompensate for the ridiculousness of the ride with all kinds of features.

Due to my insecurity, though, I'll probably end up with a more inconvenient (for kids) Suburban or something.

You're the one that made the broad, generalized statement. Your statement was incorrect.

I can think of a couple of reasons he would drive a minivan.

Chief among them is that he doesn't give a frick what you think. I tend to agree.

You missed the broader point, which doesn't surprise me.

It's ok for you to like your minivan. You obviously aren't concerned with what others think about it.
