There are lots of more family friendly Halloween movies out there.
Hell, you could get a band to play in front of just Nosferatu providing a sort of soundtrack...and people would turn out for music, drinks, and bbq.

We do something similair once or twice a summer.
Set up the projector either on the deck or above the boat dock and usually play a cartoon. Adults hang out and drink in the back while the kids watch the movie.

Growing up we had little block parties all the time. Kids would play and parents would drink. Nobody has to drive home and it brings you closer to your neighbors.
Seems like the 90's were so long ago now. Nobody wants to know your neighbors now.

Great neighborhood idea. Yeh. I'd show up if you change the flick to anything else, but this should always be at your place cause it's your thing. My thing would be lame.
