This is one of the most depressing threads I've seen on tigerdroppings.

I was not that bad. Just could have been a lot better I think.

I wish that my dad hadn't pushed me into multiple sports from a very young age. He put too much pressure on me to be a good athlete. It got to the point where I didn't even like him coming to the games to watch me play, because he was pretty hard on me when I didn't play well.

I feel like it negatively effected my interest in school, as well as my self-confidence. I was always practicing, and focusing on sports, even when I wasn't into it, or interested. It took away from my focus and interest in my education, and I was always an average student. I have a degree from Alabama, but my lack of focus and direction was still prevalent even in college. I've always felt like I was capable of much more in school.

Having said that, I don't blame my father/parents for pushing me in sports. They are good parents. I learned a lot about life and hard work playing sports, and they probably raised me the best they knew how. It could be just a bad excuse that I rationalize with myself for not being a better student, but I do feel like there is a correlation there.

I really wouldn't change anything major. There have been times that I've hurt people's feelings badly for reasons that seem trivial in hindsight. I wish I could take back a few moments like that but I'm pretty happy with myself and my family situation. Taking the different paths that may have led to more money or more stuff may have led to a completely different life. My grass is a fine shade of green.

Would have fricked the “sluts” in high school that I thought were dirty cause they’d had sex with a handful of people.

If I could go back I’d tell myself, “get over it you big pussy, you think 3-4 people is a lot what do you think going to happen as you get older? girls # doesn’t get smaller as years pass. If you aren’t doing it somebody else is.”

ETA: I wouldn’t have gone straight to college, I would have just worked full time and partied for a year or two. It took me 6 years to graduate because I spent the first 2 getting wasted nearly every night. I basically wasted 2 years of tuition and accumulated student loan debt being drunk.

Less long term relationships. Wasted alot of my youth and energy on things that were never meant to last and could have had alot more fun. When I look back at both HS and college, some of the best times I ever had were when I was single. Not talking just about sex, but life experiences in general. Partied the hardest, took great trips, met great people. There is plenty of time for marriage and such, no need to play house when you are 22. The window to really LIVE can be so small.

My life is pretty good and most of the negatives ended up, in the long run, very good. But, I would first of all, bought more comic books AND put them in a plastic bag AND kept them in pristine condition. Buddy I had growing up sold his collection for $120,000 a few years back. Mind you, he got a bigger allowance than me, but I still would have made a good deal of money. That and quitting football my senior season...terrible mistake.

Would have stayed away from all tobacco products. I’ve used and abused them all, starting at an early age. Took decades, much wasted $$, and potential harm to health before getting clean.

Porn for sure, to where I used it to manipulate the chemical reward system in my brain, just like a drug. A bad road to go down, at least for me.
