Oh ok. I was under the impression that the had $72m.

Yep he'd be able to get a lot of toys if he'd bought thousands.

I understand the technology and 100% believe in it and use to argue along with wiki about it. Sure many in the us can't understand it because like sfp said, we live in the country with the most stable currency ever known to man.

But let's get something straight, the smart play is treating it like a stock, at least for most of your money. Eth will be a game changer though from a technology standpoint but it's still way to up and down. But if you want to drop into a crytocurrency for long term, eth is where you should do it.

But in the end you can preach all you want, the smart play is that to treat it like a commodity as that's the kind of market it is right now. And this is coming from somebody that believes it will topple governments in the future.

About Venezuela, somebody asked what they were doing. Long story short, government has been collapsing for a few years but has continued to provide free electricity. The guys that were tech smart took advantage of the free power and started mining it coins. Being the tech guys they are, they also use tor and order food from other countries and sell it on the thriving black market for huge profits. It's essentially true capitalism finding a way and socialism...well being the backwards arse system it is.

What are some reliable sources to purchase cryto currency? And are there any cautions to take once you've purchased?

Did any of you bother to look at the trend line on this? It was at $8 on Dec31, and only $90 last week. It seems like with a 100% run up in a week that there should be a sell off and dip coming that you should be waiting on to buy.

It wasn't as big a dip as I had hoped, but I managed to throw some of my play money in this around $173 yesterday. Looking at it today I am wishing I would have put more in than I did, and thinking about picking up some more to sit on for a little while.

Not really. I'm sitting on it long term and the people I know that are in it are also doing the same. Eth is in it's infancy stage so it's a long term thing right now for anyone that's paying attention.

yeah i may dump some if it gets to 250 today hoping to buy more when it declines to sub-200, but i'm holding long term

just from a risk-reward standpoint, i'm willing to risk $1k because it has a legit possibility of rising 100x in a year or 2. there is nothing traditional that could possibly give those sorts of returns in that timeframe

if i make little trades in the micro-setting, it will just be gambling the price drops so that i can re-buy and acquire more ETH in anticipation of the long term gains. it won't be a realization of any "profits" short term

We're about to breach the $2,500 barrier. Wiki's $5,000 price point is within reach
