Taking precautions isn't enough to protect you in most senses - especially legally. Rookie NBA players have been warned to use a condom and take the used condom with them so the woman doesn't use it to inseminate herself - and receive child support for a child they were taking to avoid creating.

At least some of these things are obviously taking place because the child support payments are heavily inflated, making becoming pregnant (especially by a wealthy man) a functional way of earning an income for 18 years. The law could fix that by allowing men who did not seek to become fathers to opt out of financial servitude.
I have my own experience with this kind of thing that was a giant wake up call and makes me less than charitably inclined to the "tough cookies" crowd who have never been put into this kind of impossible situation.

While we're at it, the men should birth the baby too, right? I mean if we are talking equality.
If you get someone pregnant, how about man up and be a dad? It's the greatest thing that could ever happen to someone if they let it be.

The cornerstone of pure femenism is full and complete gender equity. Everyone gets equal treatment in all life's aspects.
As you so stated, life is just not always fair. That has nothing to do with gender or equity. That is just life.
This topic, as presented by the OP, present a conundrum for the femenist. Do they accept that "life is not fair." If so, that destroys their entire foundation of equality. On other side, do they support assertion of OP. As such, they then forfeit all systemic advantages provided of abortion choice without consequence combined with birth choice with no obligation to the man.

Valid. It takes 2 to tango and clearly many fathers of baby mamas are doing just that with the state providing the economic support.
