Would this new country be allowed to trade “internationally”? If so, the population would simply buy everything the rest of the world is selling and be completely destitute in five years.

If spending has to be confined to what is produced within its own borders, I actually think they might have a chance. I could see a small handful of people figuring it out and getting rich off everyone else and establishing some kind oligarchy that, while being completely awful to live under, might actually persist.

Just my $0.02

The poor(whatever that means) responsible for the majority of the labor in this country… if 10% have 90% of the wealth … the whole 90% the poor in reality

Why wouldn’t the other 90% try to obtain some of this wealth? Is there something preventing them?

No.

It comes down to financial knowledge.

If they spend it on stupid shite and use zero intelligence for how to make the wealth grow, then it’s pointless

They already have that and more baw, between Section 8, Medicaid, WIC, SNAP, & SSI.

20% of tax revenue would be a net loss for that group.

Long story less long… in a capitalistic society(in response to his question) the majority of the people no matter how hard working or well intentioned or fugal with money will remain in the 90%… this not hard to see in history… some of your neighbors, family and friends who you imagine are “well-off” living check to check

Wait, are you saying that in society about 90% of people will fall outside of the top 10% of wealth holders?

Hell, if we gave them everything we had and we moved to the moon they would follow us there and want more. That's what leeches do

You misunderstood his question… which was what stops those in the 90% from becoming the 10%… his question was framed as why they can’t make as much money or gather as many resources
