What's funny is my description of ice cores came straight out the mouth of a very liberal, huge supporter of climate change science that is the dean of an engineering school.

I bet Al Gore still had a 37 GMC Yukon "security detail" following his no carbon footprint arse around, even back then.

Well im no expert on Climate change, I havn't been to the Polar caps in many years. But one thing that I do know for sure, is that Mother Earth will take care of herself, one way or another she will be ok.

Last year we had a pretty cold, long winter. They blamed that on AWG. This year it's unseasonably warm. They blame that on AWG.

The Earth may indeed be warming. Hell, it may be cooling. Neither can be attributed directly to human activity.

I suggest you enjoy the warm weather while it lasts, then have a good coat handy for when it turns cold (which will happen).

This is a natural occurrance and has been happening since the dawn of time. The true "science deniers" are those who actually think the earth's climate is static, or that there is some optimum climate conditons. Our climate is changing, has always been changing, and will continue to change.

It naturally changes, but man's presence has helped what we are seeing today.

Global warming is not necessarily a one year to the next trend. It's one of those things in which the full effects won't be seen for a decade or longer not immediately.

I'm much more worried about ocean acidification which is a easily discerned direct impact of increased CO2 levels. More CO2 in air -> More CO2 in water -> More carbonic acid in water -> less calcium carbonate in water for shellfish and oysters.

If CO2 levels increase to the projected levels then we will likely see an significant decrease of shrimp and oyster populations. (And corals too, but you can't eat those.)
