Im thinking the murderer is probably a serial killer.

Remind me again how the white Elantra became tied to the murders? Driving away from the scene fast?

Essentially yes. Was in the area of the crime scene driving erratically. Was also seen in the background of footage that was taken of the house on a few different occasions.

"Was also seen in the background of footage that was taken of the house on a few different occasions."

Was this footage from like ring camera or something? Are they implying the car was seen scoping the house or neighborhood prior to the night of the murders?

I’m very curious how they figured out it was this guy.

Can't wait to learn this too!

Sources tell Judge Jeanine Pirro 'genealogical DNA' helped nab suspect

quote:

The suspect arrested in connection to the murders of four Idaho college students was nabbed at least in part thanks to "genealogical DNA" evidence, sources told Fox News' Judge Jeanine Pirro.

"[M]y sources are telling me that there is genealogical DNA that was established in this case that led the police to this particular suspect," Pirro said on "The Five" Friday.

Looks like they put his DNA in the database and backtracked his family members like they did the Golden State killer.

Yes that indicates they had dna from the crime scene and cross referenced it with an online database

Either a serial killer or had potential to be. I don’t think this was a situation where he got mad at being turned down by one of the girls and reacted emotionally and killed them. This guy’s background in criminology and his research on the feelings of those who commit crimes make me just think he wanted to see what it felt like to kill. Obviously this is just my opinion, but that makes more sense than the incel/rejection angle.

Will his dna at the scene be enough for a conviction?

Hopefully they find victims blood in the Elantra.

Actually the footage was after the murders, people and news crews filming the outside of the house and you can see a white car drive by in the background.

Yep

We are getting to a point where it is impossible to get away with murder (and most crimes) thanks to science and technology

That is outside of gang killings in shitholes like NOLA, Chicago, etc

This must’ve been a close link, because it took investigators months to research and narrow down GSK.

It will never be only dna at the crime scene though.

They will have tons of circumstantial evidence, phone recs, bank records, etc

Yeah, traditional sexually driven serial killer MO may soon be a thing of the past due to genetic genealogy. At some point the vast majority of people will have someone in their family tree offering up their DNA to one of these databases.

Won’t stop the killing. Might lower the numbers of victims. Whores, druggies, runaways, aren’t going to garner as Much attention as multiple coeds. Killers will Switch victims.

I don’t think it’ll stop the killing, but I do think it may cause future potential killers to change their MO.

DNA extraction has gotten so good that they can get a profile from "touch DNA"

Couple that with nearly every house in America having outside cameras, doorbell cameras, dash cams, traffic cameras, etc and we are just short of violent crimes being a thing of the past.

At the very least, it'll be hard to ever have 2 or 3 serial killers operating at once as Baton Rouge 20-something years ago.

Won’t stop violent crimes, will only speed up the time needed to solve them.
