Driving? You aren't getting on a plane going there on Thursday with the current forecast. Zero chance.

I'm in plant city, 30 minutes east of Tampa. Hoping to at least keep power.

Get yourself a window unit.

I tried but they were all gone today.

Get more gas! You wont be able to find gas for miles after the storm. You can never have too much gas (the kind that goes in the generator).

I wanted more trust me. I can only find 3 , 6 gallon gas cans. I do not use any gas equipment so I didnt have any cans. Right now, we have gas, no damn cans. I will look again tomorrow until things start to go down hill

I have two refrigerators. One inside and one in the garage. I have a lot of ice and two big Yeti style coolers I can use if the power goes out for ice

We have a pool so I figured I would just dip water from there to use in the toilet if needed but I will fill the bath tub as well. Good Idea.

I appreciate the thought of getting plenty of booze but I do have that covered.

I have a neighbor that has a full house generator and he has offered to let me run a cord off his to run my fridge if needed. I can do that if needed. From the people living where I do, they rarely lose power. Some of them have been here 25 years and said they cant remember ever losing power longer than a few hours during storms. I hope that continues

I really appreciate all the advice. I have been reading all your threads over the years so I have picked up some great tips. My wife and I went through 2 big storms in the Caribbean but we were in a resort so I have seen that kind of wind. I know its going to be very different in a house but at least we have seen it.

We have lots of small ponds and lakes in my neighborhood and they worry me. Crews were out today cleaning storm drains and preparing them along with all the pipes that connect the ponds.

If that eye is anywhere near Tampa that probably puts you on the east side of the storm which will be the worst place to be. Good luck keeping your power on but i wouldnt plan on it.

Important things first. The wine is safe unless we get an unreal surge.

I'm surprised my flight hasn't been cancelled, but it's not till Saturday morning. That last image shows it hitting landfall on Thursday.
