cruising the left lane isn't enforced much anywhere except Georgia. They DO NOT Frick around. They are the only state where their laws on the road are strictly enforced. I don't travel the North so much but along the south, Georgia don't play.

Yeah but the Gumps in Ala-Bama drive on the interstate in the rain with their hazzard lights on , so there is that.

I20 in Bama isn't bad at all, in fact i20 from where it ends/begins on i10 in west Texas to i95 on east coast is a nice overall interstate. 10 on the other hand is completely different. So much construction all across 10.

They are widening the bridge between Iowa and Lacassine to 3 lanes both ways so I’m thinking there’s plans to actually do it between Iowa and Lafayette

While a 3rd lane would be great the losers who drive too slow would still fail to stay in the far right lane.
I have found that people driving at or below the speed limit clog the middle lane in a 3 lane road - example, Mississippi drivers between Slidell and NOLA. Right lane is usually moving faster than the two left lanes.

Can you explain why truck drivers like to pass other truck drivers in the left lane going only 1 mph faster than those in the right lane?

A mystery of the universe I havdnt solved yet.

Elogs, ego, stupidity, impatience, and a lot of really ridiculous and over the top "safety" nonsense like governed speeds, audible alerts through the stereo, and AI dashcams that will report a driver for following too close (within 300ft) which causes cars and other trucks to constantly cut them off. All a deadly combo in a lot of these morons.

While I agree and drive this stretch pretty often, the number of competent truck drivers is at an all time low. Most of them simply don't give a shite and do what they want.

A sizeable percentage (and growing) can't speak english and have less experience driving in north america than a high school graduate. If you see the yellow sticker on the driver side window, don't get in front of them and get far away as quick as you can. That's Justin Trudeau's punjabis that hes importing over by the container load.

because most all company's have their trucks top speeds set differently. Mostly dictated by insurance demands. Some trucks are set at 64,65,66,67,68, most trucks that go over 70 are usually owner operators. Also most trucks have radar and can see exactly how fast any driver is going and decide whether they are going to pass or not. So if you see this occurrence of a truck going 67 and the passer can go 68, he is gonna pass him. Yeah it's annoying I get it. People in general are impatient. Losing 2 extra minutes on your drive shouldn't be a big deal.

I'd say the same to the guy that's passing just to go 1 mph faster.

so intelligence is directly proportionate to how fast one drives? I generally drive 5-6 mph over limit. does that mean I'm above average? awesome!

no. How people drive is.

I did pass over the spillway at 8am this morning. While driving the limit in the right lane, I observed 27 personal vehicles speed by and 3 semi trucks speed by the whole way on the spillway. Spillway is dangerous af, if your speeding on a bridge you a straight up idiot.

Horse shite. I've driven through all the states and there are dumb, thoughtless drivers everywhere. Many of them truckers.

It's cell phones and entitlement. Not regional

let's not generalize. It's a nationwide epidemic of idiocy

I agree about cell phones and entitlement 100 percent. In my original post I said where i drive but I'll be more specific. I drive texas, LA. Miss, fla, Ga. and the Carolinas. Louisiana is by far as a whole the most dysfunctional drivers especially on i10. I know what I see. Chain driving is the most retarded thing I see and it's right here in LA. The other states I drive don't chain drive.
