What was the nature of those misfires?

Alec Baldwin Film Set Had Previous Accidental Gun Discharges, Crew Members Say They expressed concerns over gun mishaps and working conditions just days before the shooting that killed the cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

Jeffrey Wright, who has worked on projects including the James Bond franchise and the upcoming movie "The Batman," was acting with a weapon on the set of "Westworld" when news broke of the shooting Thursday at a New Mexico ranch. "We were all pretty shocked. And it informed what we did from that moment on," he said in an interview Sunday at the Newport Beach Film Festival.
"I don’t recall ever being handed a weapon that was not cleared in front of me — meaning chamber open, barrel shown to me, light flashed inside the barrel to make sure that it’s cleared," Wright said. "Clearly, that was a mismanaged set."

there should be a round in the cylinder
It was a rehearsal for the scene and the person placing the gun in Baldwin’s hand yelled COLD GUN, meaning there shouldn’t have been a round in the gun at all.

Do they go into the details of the accidental discharges?

Yes, but equally curious as to how it didn't get checked. Just laziness and indifference (aka reckless behavior) to the danger a firearm presents when used by those who aren't trained.
I would not call it lack of training. It's common sense. Was it his first day around a gun? Has everyone else he's ever seen use a gun also been a complete idiot and lacked common sense. Being trained is too specific. Maybe call it educated or learned how to handle.... I have never had special training, yet I know how to handle my guns properly.
He's either retarded or so smug and thinks he's better than everyone else by so much that he doesn't need to watch and learn anything. Probably both an idiot and a negligent smug a-hole.

my biggest question is why there would be even just 1 live round on a set where u are playing ‘make believe’ with dozens of weapons and people.
This. It’s inexcusable. Since The Crow it just makes no sense.

It's consistent with the left's agenda and further propagates the narrative that guns are bad.
This thread further propagates stupidity general stupidity.

There is a lot of down time from one set to another and apparently that is how they amuse themselves. Allowing such a practice on a movie set is just plain negligence.

They're working long days in the desert with nothing to do....good way to kill some time. It wasn't "on set", they were out shooting guns from the armory during their downtime. Sounds like some idiot didn't clear their weapon before putting it back on set.
a good producer would’ve never let that happen on their set.
The more you look into things, the more you realize that 'prop guns' are real guns, used to film a make-believe. Even the Star Wars and Firefly guns were real; with stuff bolted here and there to look spacey. They used blanks on the set of Star Wars, Han Solo's pistol was a Mauser Broomhandle, the Stormtrooper guns were Stens, a couple of the longer rifles were MG 42s.
In Firefly, Mal's big crazy gun was a Ruger with a box and stuff over the cylinder.
I've seen at least one photo showing Baldwin with some Colt SAA's. Checking a SAA can be a pain, the cylinder doesn't swing out. You rotate and eject one at a time.
That's not a justification for not checking, but you could see that being something that comes into play. It's not a Scofield where he can break the top open and do a quick check.
He didn't aim "at" her, he aimed at a predetermined spot, where a camera was, and she was at that camera looking at things.
Anything used for the film, ESPECIALLY if it's a functional firearm, should be locked up between each use, and not played with by bored crew (or anyone else) at any time.
Baldwin's the ultimate producer (I think) and it falls back on him, but he shouldn't be micro-managing the prop department. Whoever is responsible for those props is toast for sure, especially if it's the same guy who yelled "cold".
Baldwin's liable too, but he also has to live with the fact that he killed someone negligently. That's a horrible thing to bear.
As for conspiracies, this reads like an episode of Murder, She Wrote or any other mystery. Of course it's going to be speculated on and discussed.
