He looks like a pimp straight out of a blacksploitation 70s movie yet he's going on and on about feminism and masculinity?
This might be a troll...

Too bad they don't live down here. I'd sneak a BB gun to that kid when he turned 10.

That first "real man" handshake from your grandfather or father can mean just as much, if not more, than a hug to say goodbye or something.
My grandfather started shaking my hand when I was 12 instead of just saying high or or how you doing son? I had been working on the farm with my dad a few years at the point and had begun to take on more and more responsibilities including some duties with the cattle, which was my grandfather's domain.
His handshake became his standard greeting for me up until the day he died and meant a lot to me to earn that handshake. I'd give anything to see him today and get one more handshake. He passed away in 2015 and I miss those greetings.

quote:This is a generational shift IMO. My grandfather's would've never changed a diaper. Fast forward a generation and my dad would've reluctantly helped with a baby. Fast forward another generation and I was a very hands on father up to the point of explosive diarrhea, then I had to bow out and give it to the wife.
I think it's crazy that guys don't help. I never even had the thought to sit back and not do a damn thing.
Things change, ideals change and to make assertions that all men are frigid or distant and cold in this day and age is asinine. To intentionally "nudge" your son to reject masculine stereotypes while you urge him to walk through the park pushing his baby doll in a toy stroller and act like a proud dad is idiotic.

Hell feed him a real steak too. He has probably never had one with his upbringing. Might make him grow 2 feet taller and he'll go home and smack some sense into his old man.

If you read all the way to the end he accepts his son's typically masculine traits. The guys bubble may be a little off center but he's not totally out to lunch. Anyway, he knew how to get clicks by writing an article that pisses people off. It may or may not reflect his real family dynamic.

Still a sad article assuming this isn’t a troll. Sad that such people exist. This guy does social work, whatever that specifically means. He’s the type who should not be around children and his type is the reason Florida even had to pass a law.

There’s no way she could be attracted to that loser unless she had some whacko ideas of her own.
