Old fart question forthcoming:

Back in the ‘70’s I recall the weed smelling much better - more spicy or peppery. Not like the skunky stuff nowadays. Why is that? Is it because it’s more potent now? I would think modern farmed weed would not stink so bad.

I think that not having the government prosecute you because grow or consume a plant makes for a better place to live, yes.

For whom?

Your city will have a thousand opinions on this.

Short answer: yes. I think modern strains smell much better but that's just me.

Another possible factor you might be noticing is that concentrates are much more common now, and people often mix it in their bud, or buy pre-rolled joints infused with it.

But most will come down to 'yes' or 'no'.

I'm not even saying my opinion is right, but its the one I have. On average cities that have legalized have gotten worse faster than ones that haven't IMO.... but that could be because they are generally in more liberal areas.

Thats a reductive way to put it.

That plant stinks up every place that allows it to be smoked there.

There are studies that it increases the risk of psychosis, but there are admittedly a lot of other studies saying its fine. Point being, its not a settled issue that its 'perfectly fine for you'.

It makes most people dumber and/or lazier.

If it were a "I just want to do this at my own house after work" thing, who cares? But its not.

Curious what areas outside of say, Denver, LA, or Seattle, you're referencing where weed shops are as ubiquitous as vape shops or self storage places?

There's not. He's full of shite and ranting without much thought. Having alot of vape shops is a direct reflection of your local gov't that's approving them. Bitch at them not TD

Not really. Its pretty black and white to me.

Irrelevant. Plenty of things smell bad to people. Smell should not determine its legality at all.

Plenty of things are much more detrimental to your health than mj that are legal. The fact is is that it is not harmful enough to be deemed illegal.

Ok, if you believe that, but people should still have the freedom to partake regardless.

I had a legit, LA Med Weed gummie before going into Coushatta casino awhile back Won $1600 on craps table because I was relaxed and calm.

All the others at table were getting blasted and lost money!

Very relevant. We should be more mindful of keeping spaces appealing to the most people. Back when you could smoke in restaurants nicer ones had a non smoking section. Why is that? Because it impacts others and no one wants to smell that nasty shite.

It’s a factor, it’s not THE factor.
You shouldn’t booze and get behind the wheel not because it’s bad for YOU, it’s bad for others when you wreck and kill someone. Some people who react strongly to weed can do that, I’ve seen people freak out and get hyper paranoid and it impact their driving on it. In an extreme case On the psychosis angle if some unstable loon has free access to weed and it spirals him even further who knows what they might do.

It’s not a universal rule but it’s undeniable it has that effect on many.

It’s not any one thing, it’s several factors. By the same definition alcohol should be illegal too. If people would only partake at home, fine. But they are unwilling and or not capable in both cases.

You cucks wouldn't have made it through the 70s. Weed was much more common, although I'll give you that users were smarter and kept it on the downlow. Not only was weed more common, but 50% of adults smoked cigarettes.

Why do you care why others follow certain teams? Enjoy it on your terms, not worrying about others. Just FYI, LSU, BAMA, UGA, etc., have as many fans now as they have ever had.

The federal govt legalized THC when it legalized hemp via the 2018 farm bill. Meaning weed has been effectively legalized for some time now, everywhere.

Its curious that you think this has made cities worse, but not suburbs or the country.

Agree with gambling, agree with smoking in public. Relax and light one up at home, not that hard.
