After every rain she goes to the back door, stares and groans.

It did not take long a few years back to notice she would return foamed at the mouth and wobbly. She looked as serene as she could possibly be.

Anyone who has owned Dachsunds know they can be vicious and highly possessive of what they perceive to be theirs. I finally decided to bring this charade to an end and caught her licking that toad incessantly. When i went to remove the toad she lashed out like a real fiend having their "fix" taken away.

Took damn near 2 months to break her of this addiction.

Anyone else here had this problem with their dogs?

I think it’s time for an intervention and rehab, but be careful detoxing from toads is rough

She was in la la land foamed up and spaced out red eyes and all.

And the slightest rain she woukd stand back there and whine and groan standing up staring out the small window frame begging non stop.

Her trips were bad.

When I was a kid there were enough frogs plastered to the windows to spare a few for our dogs’ recreation.

Now they are so rare, men lament to the Internet when the dog licks a frog or toad to death. The world is probably coming to an end.

It starts with toads, and before you know it, she’ll be kidnapping cats and start cheesing.

I have three Mini Dachsunds. One, who is very OCD, shares the same toad fixation. My wife totally freaks out with the whole foaming mouth thing. I tell her natural selection is a real thing.

Road licking needs to be decriminalized.

I think my Miniature Dachsund is addicted to Toads

I had some river silt brought in for a courtyard area at my house. The dirt was loaded with frogs. I knew right away that I had to get rid of those fricking frogs before my miniature Dachshund found them. Every time I let her out, she would haul arse over there like it was Christmas morning. It took me almost a year to get all those frogs out of the courtyard.
