. I use HEB. My doc sends over the script. HEB tells me they have the script and when it’s ready. Easy peasy.
CVS does the same for me. Walgreens did too before they quit taking my insurance. Not sure what OP's beef is. Must be on some serious meds.

When you have a new Rx and want to call to see if it’s filled yet. Not needing a pharmacist, but somebody from the department.
The app tells you when it's filled. They will also text you.

Same here. I needed a compounded rx and switched all my meds over since they were way easier to deal with.

App? Didn’t know that was a thing. Last time I dealt with CVS was concerning my ill mother in law that was staying with me- it was kind of a pita.

You can also pre pay in the app, and use a barcode to pick up your RX to avoid the annoying back and forth try8ing to understand heavily accented English.

How often do you need to personally speak to a Pharm.D. by phone that this is a major issue for you?

If you have a medication that has a national shortage and is also a controlled substance, then you have to call around to each pharmacy to figure out which one has it. I've had to do this often. There's no other way to find out other than calling each one. They are not allowed to tell you which pharmacies have it either.

Live a healthy life. Have never taken a prescription drug or needed to talk to a drug dealer at Walgreens.

If you called the Dr. line and weren’t a Dr. you got put on hold until you hung up just to teach you a lesson.

We use a local independent pharmacy that doesn't have a computerized answering system.

If I call about an OTC drug and its effects on a certain condition I have, I get a quicker answer from them than I would if I called my physician.

So, no cheat code necessary.

They have no way of knowing this.

The inventory online rarely reflects what is actually in other stores when it comes to chains

Life is gonna come at you fast one day. Unless you have stellar genetics and get hit by a Mack truck at 64.

Absolutely.

Then we have to stop what we are doing to answer the phone there just for someone to ask if their med is ready yet ?

It’s not a mistake either , you’re purposefully lying to beat the line of other callers because he thinks he’s slick and kore important than everyone else trying to get through

No better than getting up first on an airplane and running through the aisle to be the first off the plane

Do we really need the "If this is an emergency, hang up and call 911" from the automated phone every time we call the pharmacy?

What dumbass calls a pharmacy when they're having a heart attack?

Have you met people lately? Even my urologist's office had the same warning.

I know with CVS, my wife (provider) has to leave a message. the days of talking to the pharmacist are over (at least in our town). then hope they listen to the message before the distressed pt shows up.

honestly I think it works out better, though. a lot of pharms are difficult to deal with
