I rarely buy physical things for myself. Having a lot of shite just isn't very appealing
Additional money after saving goes to vacations, which I do as many as time allows, and occasional eating out. It's the millennial way

I'm a lot of terrible things. But no one has ever accused me of being poor

Dumping an extra 1400 bucks a month into my savings and paying off other debt?
I was confused because you made it sound like you had no debt and this was all discretionary spending. Not trying to be a dick, but is it really an epiphany that spending money on fine bourbon and amazon junk while in debt wasn't the best move?

I have a single low dollar car note. No mortgage and no rent.
I think you misunderstood.

all bourbon or just additional bottles? HTF can you stop buying bourbon?
unless you're buying scotch.

I'm trying to understand, as I'm not far from your situation. Good job, no family yet, cheap rent, vehicle paid off, find myself usually with a couple grand after the bills are paid.
Do you not enjoy the things you were buying? At the end of the day, if you're not accumulating debt, and have a healthy savings account, what was so liberating to you about not buying things you enjoy? I get having savings, and feeling financially secure, but it seems like you got that covered and these things weren't a threat to that.
Do you feel like that's sustainable without blowing your brains out? Obviously there needs to be balance but I don't want there to ever be a time in my life where I can't go walk down the aisle at academy and pick out 35 bucks worth of fishing stuff I'll probably never use. Again, not trying to be a dick, but it sounds like you could benefit from exercising a little moderation. I don't think it's crazy to assume you could buy a nice bottle of bourbon or a gadget or two off of amazon without it necessarily adding up to 1400 dollars a month.

I mainly did it at first to save some cash. But after a few weeks I realized I wasn't going on Amazon every day to buy something.
Example, went to Lowe's yesterday to see if they had any pressure washers with decent pumps.
Old me would have walked out with one regardless, or at least a new saw or something. Instead, spent 20 bucks on clearance plants and got out of there.
As for sustainability, Idk. Haven't seen anything that has made me want to break the streak yet.

not if you stop buying lube.
Edit-- crap, in too late-- without lube.

No waiting for amazon.
I don't get this obsession everyone seems to have with Amazon. I'll buy books on there once every couple weeks, but there seems to be this addiction people have where they spend hours on there looking for "deals" on shite they don't need.
I find it odd.

I live like this. Not interested in material things. More interested in music (which I get online for free), interesting movies/docs (which is I get on Netflix or library), books (from library), and being outside running or playing basketball which is also cheap. Seldomly eat out. Pretty much just buy the basics.
I don't drink alcohol and have actually never bought anything on Amazon

I quit spending $5 bills at the beginning of the year, saved $700 so far, buying a 1911 .45 at the end of the year, good way to save gun $
