I bought Reddit gold one time because I made a wager With another user regarding an outcome of a game.
For buying the gold, I got to name a reddit server. I thought that was a random, but cool reward basically nothing.

It’s not a government site.
I don’t spend too much time on there anymore because after trump, it just became a website version of the John Oliver show. When I’m there, I stick to just fun subs.

Not that I ever ventured into the political subs but they sure as heck got aggravating during and shortly after the election.
If you stick to the subs you like, it’s not bad at all.
