I photographed a Disqualification at the LHSAA Track Championships (edit in OP)

In this photo, the relay team of the guy walking off the track at the right, won the 4x400mm relay by about 20 seconds, but because he was in the path of the second place team (passing the baton in the photo), they were disqualified, giving the State Championship of this event and over all championship to the team handing off the baton.
***EDIT***
The JJCA runner (team) was not DQ'd, the reddish team handing off was DQ'd.

Why, because I photographed it? I didn't know I had it until I got home.

Doesn't look like he hindered them in any way.

This photo was taken at 1/1000 of a second, so just think about it, they were running and he was walking, so he was closer than you think

we can assume the dude in orange had just competed in the cross country event and is looking to see if his mom was there to pick him up

I couldn't tell you. I think this was 2A or 3A.

Also when I use to run I believe they made you exit stage right after the hand-off at state. Can't remember for sure

Yes, their anchor man must have ran the final lap just around 1 minute. The kid was flying.

Rules are rules, but it would be nice if they used some discretion every once in a while.

I don't know, must be faster than that, if that is slow. That kid pulled away. As you can see in the photo, the baton passes were only seconds apart, and they finished by at least 20 second lead.
