you can't ruin it for freaks sake. if it's flooded, worst case is take out the spark plug, dry it, stick it back it in and crank it. If you have a rope to pull, just pull it a bunch of times and the extra gas that flooded the spark plug will get sucked out.

I’m just a dumbass then. I thought cranking it a bunch is what floods it.

Wait… never mind.

Take out the spark plug and yank it a few times. The pull string.

Cranking it with the choke open will sometimes flood it.

It's people like you that had caused everyone else to have to deal with the stupid modern gas can.

LOL, thats an old wives tale! You can add gas to damn year any combustion engine at the fuel cap safely. If what you said was true, there would be pressure washer (and lawnmower, generator, 4-wheeler) fuel/explosion incidents daily.

What’s the modern gas can? I only use Jerry cans.

Jerry cabs flip over too easy in the back of my truck. I use the round Justrite cans. For small tanks, I like the No-Spill cans

You thought correct. Pull the spark plugs and quit choking it and when u pull it will spit out the fuel that's flooded. Then be very careful and use your hand to install spark plug (do not cross thread) and tighten with socket wrench.

How do you kill an engine by putting fuel in it?

It’s exactly why user manuals specifically say don’t do it.

Page 8

It’s exactly how the iron/wood clad boat in Vicksburg almost burned a few years ago. User manual safety instructions aren’t wives tales. If you want to be lazy that’s on you.
