I need the most eminent OT Braintrust to tell me about getting a new roof in Baton Rudge.

Any tips? What are the ins and outs? Help a brother out. My roof is almost 25 years old and it's time. Besides (insert Garciadidmyhusband jokes here) what am I looking for? What do I want to avoid?

Just wait for a big storm and then find those guys from up north that come down and will fix your roof on the cheap

We just had a wind event plenty big enough to cause damage that would qualify for a replacement on the insurance dime, however, a 25 year old roof is on its last days (actually borrowing days). It will take one very creative "inspector" to get a claim accepted for full cost replacement.

After hurricane Andrew I got me one of those fancy shaped metal roofs from Cajun home improvements that was back when Tony was still alive it has survived After Katrina it was the only rook in our neighborhood with out blue tarp. Now there are several other roofs like mine it the hood. It was pricey back then but well worth it.

They say you want hand nailed. I don't know why but that's what they say. Also, look for Mexicans. You don't want anyone else on your roof.
