I Need Help With Putting/ Putter **Update Page 3**

I currently have zero confidence standing over the ball on the green. I've fought this off and on for years. Even back in school playing 2-3 times/week I went through fits with putters. I've been an Odyssey guy since high school and currently own two different ones. I've done the Watts route and spent hours trying putters of different brands without coming away with any more confidence from any particular one.
I shot 84 this past weekend which was the best round I've had in probably 5 years. But that 84 could've easily been a 78 if I could make putts. I had as many 1 putts as I did 3 putts (3 each). Left another 3 strokes on the course by missing makeable par putts.
What drills can I do to help this? Is investing in a new putter a choice, cause I am lost on what I'd buy that would be any better. Any recommendations?

I did this a couple of times.

On 10 I hit my drive left into some tall grass. Hit a beautiful 6i with a little draw to about 6 feet... And missed the birdie putt. I had a "uhoh here comes the putter throw" moment.

Have you tried a non anchored broomstick? Like Bernhard Langer?
What about not looking at the ball and just the hole?

Not my thing. I messed around with belly putters and the like awhile back and just felt awkward.

Like Speith? I've never seriously tried it.

I lost my stroke about 6 years ago and went to a broom stick for about a month. Putted good with it, but when I went back to the short putter my stroke was much much better. It's like I carried over that smooth stroke concept.
As far as not looking at the ball, it's good...I like it. I honestly have never used it in a round and idk why, it works great on the practice green. Longer putts I wouldn't do it tho

Does this work?
I'm using a Superstroke Midslim right now.

Yes .. Freddie Haas told me that secret years and years ago ... It's really good and gets the face square and helps you hit the putt constantly more solid

Eh, you're better than me- I am lucky to keep it on the fairway- ever.
You can see a couple of recaps of the last time i held a golf club.

Feel your pain. I'm an 8 index and go through a slump about once a year. When I go through putting slumps I've found that going left hand low and keeping my head purposely down for a few seconds after the stroke helps. Really the best thing you can do is go out to the putting green and put in some time working on your stroke (length of backstroke, arc of stroke etc.) Better distance control will help on those three putts.

Are your putts off line or are you having trouble judging pace? Or Both?

What do you do when you get up to the green? What's your green reading like?
Do you like the ball to die in the hole or do you try to hit the back of the cup?

Get The Putting Bible by Dave Pelz. Changed my game permanently by teaching me the relationship between speed and line. I'm deadly on the greens now (have a hard time getting there) but once on I'll make 1 or 2 20-30 footers a round and am lights out from 10 ft and in. Great book.
