One of the things I miss about the 80's that has not been mentioned yet... Fighter jets always flying about.
I grew up in the country and they would routinely train out where I lived. It was like having an air show to watch almost every day. There always seemed to be a at least 2 or 3 jets flying everywhere due to the cold war. As a kid, it was awesome to watch and loved the sound they made.

I wish I could go back to the 80’s and invent the Covid vaccine so no one would have died from the most deadly virus of all time.

What kind of “stress” were you dealing with as an 80s kid?

You would have really loved turning 10 in 70.

I was listening to an 80s station on Pandora yesterday. Everything seemed so innocent back then.

Yes it was a very real thing but looking back and knowing how Government is today I have to ask how real was it?

This. I've mostly disengaged from politics, but I'm sick of it being literally everything. My family is having issues because people have frankly gone off the deep end. I want this era of everything being the most important thing to end.

We stopped fearing in the 80s and started partying.

Shreve Square was hoppin and a poppin!
I saw A Train at their reunion gig back in May. I was expecting Miki to look like Miki from 40 years ago. She didn't but, damn, the woman can still sing.

People in the 50s said that they missed the 20s and 30s and that the 50s were awful.
In short, it is not a new phenomenon that people get older and miss the times of their childhood.

I’m pretty sure no one in the 1950s longed for the days of the Great Depression. The 1950s was a great era of post war economic growth in the US that people romanticized coming off the heals of Jimmy fricking Carter. The 80s were awesome... full stop. There isn’t some 30 year cycle. If there was, Biden would be viewed as a badass, not a potato head, and Covid-Riots would not have been a thing.

Same here. Turned 10 in 1980 and the 80s were amazing.

There are positives and negatives to almost every era but I think the 90s was the last great decade in America.
