I feel for you. I had a fridge go bad at my camp that had frozen bait shrimp in it. The smell when I opened the door knocked me off my feet, it was by far the worst thing I have ever smelled in my life. I put the fridge out by the road in Cocodrie, went fishing, and when I came back, it was gone. Some people must have a stronger constitution than me. Listen to what the guy with the shrimp dock said to clean it up or rent an ozone generator.

My mom used to put them in the compost pile. Our lab found them and rolled in them one time. That was fragrant.

"Dem skrimpz done stanked up your jernt!" -- Pliny the Elder, ~350 BC

Go with the gumbo idea. Make something which involves frying up bacon fat. Fight that overpowering stench with a pleasant, but strong in its own right agent.

My uncle owns a shrimp dock. Spread a shite ton of salt over it, light mist of water, deck brush it to a paste, squirt some dawn on it, little water, scrub it, rinse it off with the hose pipe. Back to normal in as soon as it dries.

Upvote just because you said "hose pipe"

This is brilliant

He put shrimp in curtain rods that were not found until they were changed out when getting house prepped to sell months later.

Did the house sell for much less than it was worth?
