AT&T is $30 a month cheaper. I've had Cox for several years and they were very reliable, so I guess I'm taking a risk.
I changed addresses and was told by Cox that "all we have to do is flip a switch and your internet will transfer from your old place to your new place and you can use internet immediately"
Well what really happened was that the internet in the new place was NOT hooked up, they were going to have to send a technician out and charge me $50, and I couldn't get an appointment til Wednesday. Slightly thereafter, AT&T entered my life.
AT&T waived my installation fee and said I should get my self-installation stuff on Monday and be good to go. And I believed them. Based on what I've read here, believing AT&T is a bold strategy. I'll see how it pays off for me

ACH service for AT&T keeps charging my card and Regions Bank says there's no way to stop pay on an ACH.
Tell Regions to close your account and reopen with a new account number and a new debit card number. Problem solved.
If they don't want to do that, find another bank. Problem solved.

Spectrum Rocks. Internet, and mobile...tv is expensive for what you get. Have had Spectrum for 6 years internet and tv and just switched to spectrum mobile. Was able to port my numbers transfer our two iPhone 7's and the service and bill is ridicously low...( Did a one year experiment with Sprint mobile and it was awful.
What I remember most of about ATT is that their monthly bills were always wrong.

Same thing when I go to my buddy's camp at Raccourci Island, no service with Verizon. He has no problem with AT&T out there
Yep, same here. I have a camp up the river from the Raccourci area. Verizon has no service there. AT&T does, although it's not perfect.

Good luck. If you have any problems, getting a tech out to your house is an act of congress.

Switched to AT&T 2 years ago this July. My bill has NEVER been correct. I've had to go to the store in person each month to "fix" my monthly rate. The agreed upon rate had to be manually adjusted by the salesperson I initially used. I've gotten so tired of it that 2 months ago I began a debit withdrawal which is my usual MO. I'm now continuing to pay an inflated amount ($40+) but so sick of the headache that I'm simply waiting till July to pull the string on another service.

We have AT&T fiber available in our neighborhood but still have Cox. I deal with both of them fairly regularly on the corporate side and AT&T is far worse to deal with imo.

Nationwide nobody comes close to verizon coverage. Att is a distant second. In South Louisiana it's closer but baton rouge to nolo, vzw is still superior. Lafayette area they are about even. Tmobile is for the poors.

Grad, I really hope you are not going to be using, or trying to use, U-Verse. Absolutely the worst.

I switched to T-Mobile three months ago. It’s unbelievable how much better they are.
Last year had AT&T when in Europe for several months. A total nightmare. They were the single biggest pain in the arse on our trip. Couldn’t do jackshit and practically charged You for even just looking at your phone. Shitty complicated overseas package that tried to frick you over at every opportunity.
The shite they made you go through overseas to not get charged an arm and a leg was criminal.
Turn this on when you’re doing this.
Make sure you turn this off when you are on WiFi.
Only turn on roaming when, blah, blah, blah.
Kept getting text warnings about overage. Would get billed $50 if we went over a single data point even if your new cycle was about to start in a few hours.
No rollover on the $50 charge. If you went over by one megabyte. Tough shite. Pay up.
Now here’s your new bill.
Am back overseas now on T-Mobile. ZERO hassle. A LOT cheaper. Night and day.
AT&T was the most abysmal business model ever. Won’t touch anything by them ever again.
T-mobile says do whatever you want. Use as much data as you want. The ONLY thing to watch for....if you are on an overseas call it’s 25 cents a minute. THAT’S IT! I’ve received two bills since being over here. They were right. Plus over $100 cheaper a month than AT&T last year and get unlimited data.
AT&T is a total shite show. If your using AT&T, you’re a sucker. I was one long enough.

My hate ATT saga.
Mobile and DSL in Mississippi for six years pleading and begging for fiber U-Verse. Planning to combine Internet and replace my satellite television with their U-Verse TV.
Couldn't get it. Called numerous departments and even went to the retail shop to enlist their support.
Six months before moving back to BR from Mississippi, we're struck by lightning-taking out ports on smart TV, DVR, ceiling fans, frying PC, garage doors opening and closing, and fried ATT DSL modem.
ATT technician, while replacing DSL modem says, "Gosh, Mr. Misanthrope, I don't know why you're sticking with DSL here. We're trying to get people off copper pairs and are grandfathering customers who switch to fiber 60 megs for $30.00 per month."
"Can't," say I, "don't have fiber in this neighborhood, been trying for almost six years."
"Well", says he, "There's fiber to a pedestal in your next door neighbor's front yard?" "It's always puzzled me that everyone in this part of the subdivision had DSL and satellite television."
Sign me up! And they did. Only Internet though, combined with television would have made the grandfathered rate null and void.
Six months later, moving back to BR, I arrange to transfer services to new address in Clinton. Confirmed with multiple departments and representatives that my 60 megs/$30.00 a month deal would transfer and that fiber was available in the Clinton neighborhood. Check and double check, multiple times.
Upon installation, the technician is running twisted pair to the home and into my office for my DSL modem.
In summary, no fiber, no 60 megs, no $30.00 per month, only DSL that can barely provide 6 megs.
And that ladies and gentlemen is why I hate ATT.
If anyone knows who can provide reliable mobile coverage up here in Clinton that's as okay or better than ATT, please let me know and I'll switch tomorrow. Pretty sure I'm stuck with them for Internet though.

It’s not even close. I have berated countless AT&T employees over the years. I don’t even feel bad about it anymore

We pay $95/mo for Cox internet (250 Mbps I think) but it's been extremely reliable which is the most important thing for me.
My neighbor works from home for an out of state company and after the flood his AT&T internet was down for 2 weeks. Ours was back up the day after the water went down. I let him come work from my dining room during the day until they got his back up

The worst part about AT&T is the products often aren't/weren't terrible. DTV was once great. UVerse was very solid back in the day. AT&T cell coverage is second only to VZW (and better in some limited cases). 1GB internet is great.
In time though, AT&T's bureaucratic mega-corporate dysfunction will destroy all of these things. Imagine an internet/communications company having a website that doesn't work half of the time.
I don't think AT&T wants to suck, I think they can't help it because they're so huge and unwieldy (contrast that with something like American Airlines, where I think the business leaders get up everyday and think "how can I frick over our customers today")
