And I just don’t see what’s so horrific about it. Comments on traffic are 100% spot on. North Baton Rouge is definitely not a nice place to live but literally every city has at least one rough side of town. Otherwise, I thought it was a pretty comfortable place to live.

I understand when people talk that way about Jackson or Montgomery. Those places are currently dire. Baton Rouge, not so much. It could definitely be better with more forward thinking politicians, but it’s not much better or worse than a lot of places out there from my experience.

Goddammit, I didn’t realize there’s currently a topic on this very issue, albeit one from the other side of the spectrum.

It's the same reason the rant is full of moody cock gobblers ruled by their emotions.

I’m fine with merging this into the current thread or whatever mods want to do.

Unless the city gets better leadership, it's headed the direction of Jackson and Montgomery.

If I didn't have a child Baton Rouge is fine for me, the schools are what are driving us away.

Most cities have their drawbacks. Usually there's something to offset it. What does Baton Rouge have? Nightlife? A thriving arts scene? A hot job market? Great schools? Even your OP is faint praise: "I just don’t see what’s so horrific about it."

If not for LSU I would have no reason to set foot in Baton Rouge.

Fair enough, but Baton Rouge has never been and was never on track to be Chicago, Miami, or Houston. From the way it’s frequently described here you would think it was Ferriday.
