its about your total lack of respect for the act of someone giving you a gift and you not even felling it is appropriate and a sign of love and respect to say thank you.

that makes you a disrespectful ingrate that is not worthy of getting gifts. it has nothing to do with the "gift giver getting something in return" but all about your disrespect in not being polite enough to say thank you.

only a liberal thinks they are owed things they are not owed and then say they dont need to be greatfull for getting it

I only bought gifts for my parents, sister, and girlfriend. And received gifts from all of them.

I don't do extended family.
