But we have set up a systematic way of determining risk, a method that has been tried and tested for a whole number of things with regards to medical care. Medications, procedures, vaccines, and interventions all have been vetted in the same way (or at least there has been serious attempts to vet them this way).

Yep, alot of unknowns. You weight the risks and chose what is best for you. But dont pretend that there is no risk in taking the vaccine.
At what point will there be "enough data" for you to get the vaccine?

Which is why I would bet quite a few people who have taken other vaccines are waiting on this one.
The fact that official advice and predictions were all over the place (and turned out to be way off) in the early days and months doesn't help.
exactly

Yet you likely take part in a whole slew of activities that present more danger to you than the possibility that the vaccine will cause a serious adverse effect. It is frankly a strange way of operating in the world.

who told you that the virus likely causes no symptoms?

Key findings:
24 studies report that the proportion of asymptomatic individuals among individuals testing positive for SARS-CoV-2 ranged from:
20%–75% for the general population.

The proportion of asymptomatic infections appears high in many groups.

Well... you can test positive and yet show no symptoms, can you not?
For some... it's nothing more than a slight cold. For others, it's a fever for a few days. For others, it's a hospital stay, lung scarring and a really rough road. For some... it's death.
But for some, there are no symptoms whatsoever. For the very vast majority of people.. it's a minor to mild inconvenience... nothing more.

It really isn't when one of your previous excuses was that you objected to things that weren't natural being put in your body.

I feel zero sense of urgency to get the vaccine because I have zero concerns about Covid.
thats really all there is to it

Are you going to take the COUNT Vaccination??? I bet they'd let you jump to the front of the line!

Everyone knows you're an RN. Congratulations again. If you're getting the vaccine, why the frick does it matter if someone else doesn't?
Go decorate a white board and when you're done with that, wake someone up to give them their sleep medication

Um, the CDC.
So you believe the CDC when they say the virus has somewhere between 20 and 75% asymptomatic cases, but not when they say the vaccine is safe?

I work with an infectious disease physician on a daily basis (she is my boss). She has shared with me a lot of the research and studies about the vaccines. She has been saying to get this vaccine before the 95% thing was made public . She is volunteering her free time next week to assist in giving vaccines to the first phase of healthcare workers. Because she too believes that much in this vaccine.
I trust her professional knowledge base much more than some tin foil hat wearing folks crying on Facebook about microchips and shite
Precisely, or jane and joe on FB quote some crook like Shallenberger as if he knows more about infectious diseases than say...PCCM or ID physicians?

Bitches at someone who's said on here that they're an RN, but doesn't understand how vaccines work.
Checks out.

But let's just assume some extreme hypotheticals. If everyone like you who is younger, healthy, no comorbidities felt this way and didn't get the vaccine, then the only people who did get the vaccine would be the old and/or compromised, right?
Since the vaccine isn't 100% safe, meaning you can still get COVID, then we will still see cases and deaths. We'll see less obviously but with millions upon millions not getting the vaccine for this reason, I'd think it's safe assumption that we'll remain locked down with major restrictions for quite some time.
I basically feel teh same way as you but if getting the vaccine gets us closer to opening it all up quicker, then I'm all for it because the only other alternative is really just a revolution and fight against the government or some shite.

You don’t have any data to back that up

Just replying in general here. I have been trying to read up on the vaccine and its safety but so far the most informational thread I have is this one here. My Oncologist suggested I wait a bit before having this vaccine due to the fact that I am and will be on Chemotherapy for advanced rectal cancer for the foreseeable future. I now have a somewhat compromised immune system so there are risks for me. After reading this thread I feel much better about taking the vaccine. I will follow my doctor's recommendations of course, but if and when he advises me to take the vaccine I will.
