Sounds like he was sick of her lies. You did well to lawyer up and to clearly define your role in your son's life. I would expect that her position could change once she meets a new guy.

I don't hate women at all.
Some truths are hard to hear and if he's smart he won't trust her. Since it's his kid good on him for raising him but he shouldn't for a second be fooled that the mom is just gonna be an angel about it.
He needs to protect himself and his kid first.

Had a cousin who pick the wrong woman. 80% of the battle now is trying to deprogram trashy ways the kid is learning.

Yeah this sounds really fricked up. If she spent 3 years letting that little boy call him Daddy just to rip his whole world apart it's because something else happened. Not only did she divorce the only father her kid knew, now she's told him "Guess what, he wasn't even your father anyway, this complete stranger is." That's fricking cruel. Either her ex successfully petitioned the court to exclude him from child support or she decided you would give her more money than him. She didn't do it just to make sure YOU had a chance to know your son. She did NOT do this out of the goodness of her heart.

I've been around the O-T long enough to understand that I'll get some stupid or disingenuous responses. However, I have received enough positive responses to completely offset those responses. For those of you who have given me positive responses, I thank you. For those who haven't, please understand that life will take many different turns you will not see. Those turns will most certainly happen. The degree of those turns will depend on choices you may not see clearly until much later.

But the Ones that you really need to listen to are the ones warning you of what's gonna happen. Because they've seen it happen.
You don't want to think about it but protecting yourself and your kid NOW is gonna pay dividends later.
If you don't safeguard against the mom, who has shown a pattern of behavior, you'll regret it.

I am half trolling about the mom, but in seriousness be all business with her. This is a woman that let a man bond with a kid for three years to only devastated him when she literally revealed he was a cuck.
Respect the danger she is to you, and be polite and nice that is it. Be there for the kid.
