Also, I don't see the correlation to the future of blockcoin technology and Bitcoin/Ethereum/Litecoin/etc. What good is Bitcoin if I want to use blockchain technology to streamline medical records, for instance?

I meant it would be bumped at some point, not necessarily in a short period of time. Then it will fall and I'll make another snarky thread mocking the believers. Then it will go up and it will get bumped again. It's the bitcoin circle of life

Ya which is why it seems prime for scalping. Wait til it drops over 10% in an hour, sell once that goes up 10%, wait until the next big drop and do it all again. It is like taking candy from a baby if you look at the charts.

The man is comfy with his profits and got out. That's a smart money decision by someone not attached.

Also, despite my best efforts to grasp the technology, I'm still not sure how the blockchain would be useful for everyday life.

You're a smart guy
Watch a ETH YouTube video explaining the tech. Than watch an Iota YouTube video.

Judge then but just because you can't grasp it doesn't mean it's not valuable.

I've said for nearly a year this was an investment opportunity of our lifetimes and it continues to pass everyone by just because they don't wanna take ten minutes to learn about it

I'm also playing the other side of it shorting the companies like RIOT and LFIN the past few days after they announced they were getting into blockchain as their stocks crashed after the initial overreaction of their announcement.

I'm also hoping to get some Nvidia options cheaper today because they are taking a dip over the overreaction of BTC dropping today. Not sure if it will amount to much on that front yet. AN hour left to go and not as much of a drop as I was hoping for.

Lol on me, though!

Also. If you think all this is absolutely bogus.

A simple $100 investment in the top 7 coins would be over $40k today

It has no intrinsic value to a majority of people. It's a speculation play. This won't work just because you want/need it to work.

I did $50 in cheap coins that might have a future. Will wait and see if they make any big rise in money. If they don’t, I lost $50. Who gives a frick. If they do? I’ll have stacks on stacks on stacks.

You realize that just because a few guys shoot dice on a street corner, it doesn't mean it's life changing

There are reports that $200 billion was lost today but it really wasn't. As someone earlier said, there is big money driving this down while shorting it on the other side. It's a wealth transfer essentially. That's not saying regular people won't make money off of it but calling it the investment opportunity of a lifetime is a bit of hyperbole that can be dangerous as there will be a lot of people that lose everything over it because they buy the hype too much.

I've always said to take profits.

Nothing else exists in 2017 where you could throw a dart at a board and wake up a year later and be up 4000%

I don't think we will get many other opportunities such as that one

The issue is the greed and that is what will bite people not being as practical as you when it all crashes down. That's why the hyperbole can be dangerous.

ETA: I lived through the dot com and mortgage crisis. Those were the "investment opportunities of a lifetime" too FWIW. There will always be another one.

Do some research on the The Tulip and Bulb Craze

Do you only see value as a speculation play? I want to know how I can be positively impacted? I want you to change my mind. It's more fun being on the money side of this

Of course, but why should I believe multiple blockchains are necessary? More importantly, why would it be one of the current ones?
