I do think people are probably blowing this out of proportion though.

A corporation attempting to grant themselves the power to fine people for wrong opinions. Yeah, it's just a totally minor issue, dude.

We'll never know, but would be fascinating to find out how many accounts were closed. Mine sure as hell was.

Let’s assume they followed through with the policy.

How do you think that would affect you based on how you use PayPal?

It would effect me in that I would close my Paypal account.

Off the top of my head, let's say I donated to a political campaign or social organization that Paypal deemed participated in "misinformation". My financial support would most likely then be deemed as participation also. Anybody that would be ok with this type of groupthink is a straight up communist and nothing more.

Isn’t this what they did with people that donated to trucker blockade? Closed or froze their accounts?

That’s kind of my point - this kind of thing doesn’t just happen on a whim. Multiple people would have had to clear it, or, someone went rogue. It just seems so obviously out of touch that the former seems almost impossible.

It was probably considered and decided against. Uploaded the wrong version to public.

Had a PayPal for 18 years and closed mine. I did appreciate they gave a response box for the question of why I was cancelling bc I absolutely made clear so they knew why.

If you disagree with their views they can just randomly fine you and take $2500 from you.
