Mountains trump Beach.
Mountain views, low humidity, hiking, camping.
Beach is boring and disgusting.

Too damn much sand. I'm a mountain man all day every day, and I always have been. I hated the beach even when I was little.
That said, I am certainly a fan of a second or third floor beachfront balcony.

I enjoy nice weather and playing with my kids on the Gulf. I vacation where the SEC does every year. Go somewhere else if you don't like it.

Its a place they can relax, no worry about the rest of the world for a bit. We all have our spot.

The beach for vacation isn't my thing. I'd rather go somewhere and do stuff. Whether thats just going to hang out in a cool spot or skiing or golf trip or whatever.
But I'd live in a beach town. Going for a day on the weekend whenever you want would be sweet, but you can count me out of a gulf Shores trip to go share the bewch with a bunch of middle aged white dudes getting drunk under an sec school tent of which they didn't attend.

I'll admit that I don't really like the beach much either other than at night. My wife loves it though so we go most years. Give me the mountains all day over sand.

You know it's bad when throwing horseshoes makes being at the beach infinitely better.

It’s a lifestyle, bruh
When you're a kid you think the beach is awesome.
But when you're a kid you think McDonalds is awesome.
I grew up and developed more refined tastes, Mountains.

Go to the Cascades, don't have to worry about elevation sickness there.

Beaches are for fat people who can barely waddle to their beach chair, let alone hike a mountain.

Kid, get offa my yard.
Years ago, the coastal beaches used to have a street (ONE street) inland from the sand dunes. That street would have houses on the water side and some houses on the other side of the road.
Rent one of those houses, walk the beach in midsummer and see maybe two or three people out ever half mile or so.
The Outer Banks still had wooden ship wrecks and open access to the wrecks.
Shells were plentiful after beach churning storms.
People didn't litter and if they found litter, they'd remove it.
Motels might be three stories high.
That's why old timers have a love for the beaches that were.

Part of the appeal is fresh seafood that I will never get in Arkansas. Stinky' Fish Camp, Shunk Gulley...damn good.

Not poor but honestly if my wife didn't like going I'd be fine with never going to the beach again in my life. I do like salt water fishing occasionally though. Guess everyone has their thing.
