I haven't had the flu in almost 20 years and I don't remember it kicking my arse like it has this week. My entire body was hurting this week and now I feel like I've been run over by a damn 18-wheeler. When the doctor told me I'll be out of it for at least a week, I didn't believe him. I thought I'll be on my feet within a two days. Man, was I wrong!

I have only had the flu once in my life, and I remember it being the most horrible experience I have ever had. I wouldnt have even been able to create a thread about it, because I felt so bad. As in bad, like the quality of this thread.

I did. I ended up getting a strain of the flu that's not protected by the flu shot.

sorry for you, bur you're not alone. One of our buyers in my dept. had the same thing. Out over a week, but since the company provided the shots, they didn't assess her sick leave. Hope you feel better man. I know it sucks.

The flu is no joke. People act like its just a slightly more serious cold. I had it about 12 years ago and could not move off of the couch for a week. I now get the flu vaccine every year.

i caught the flu when I was training for a new job a couple years back. It was one of those training that was 12 straight days for 14-16 hours a day. if you miss, you go home...unemployed.

well anyway, i was taking ibuprofen and tylenol in rotation every 4 hours to keep the fever down. they put us in a hotel for the 2 weeks we were there and one night my fever was so bad that I had sweat through both blankets and comforters on BOTH beds. It was truly miserable. I was soooo cold and at the same time sweating buckets.

Not to start the Flu shot vs No flu hot argument, but I feel like I read a lot of "I finally got the flu shot and now I got sick after years of no illness"

I've never had the flu, but back in the mid 90's I was in India for business. I was eating all the food but drinking bottled water. But at the end of the week I must have messed up somewhere, and as I was on the plane home, food poisoning hit me like a mule. On a frickin airplane!
